A few weekends ago I helped the ever-so-awesome Snixie second shoot a wedding for our friends. Snixie never ceases to amaze me and I think the best part of the day was getting to watch her work. She’s got that bubbly charm that makes people at ease while they’re photos are taken. She’s also pretty passionate about whatever she does, especially her bible teaching. I’m guessing teaching experience helps her stay organized and on task because her order pretty much puts me to shame. She’s got the full wedding preview up here- she marked mine with little **’s when you hover (isn’t that sweet?). It’s her older work, but her engagement session with Colin and Rachel remains one of my all time favorite/inspiring shoots.
The great thing about second shooting was the ability to be a fly on the wall without the stress of running the sucker. I’ll admit, I’m truly human, in that it took a bit of getting used to stepping back and letting someone else take the lead. However, it’s a treat to be able to watch another artist at work.
The guy in the picture below- equally awesome. He did the video for the day and happens to be an awesome graphic designer…and he has the coolest name I’ve ever heard of- RAINWATER!? No really, it’s his actual last name.
The bride and groom, we went to college with, and they NAILED the relaxed/fun wedding. The entire day was full of people laughing and goofing off, preparing the artsy details and just generally surrounding the two with a lot of love. Kudos to people who understand what a wedding should be about!
oh and luminaries- one of the hardest things to photograph ever. I don’t think I was ready for those.
Thank you for the sweet compliments and THANK you for second shooting! :)
